Summer In The City

Definitely NOT recommended to stay in the city during the summer, but if you can’t go to the beach then go to Manhattan.

This time around I discovered an authentic Greek bakery called Pi. It’s owned by Athenians and it’s located on Broome Street in Soho. There’s nothing better than a Freddo Cappuccino and a Greek spinach, feta pie to start your day!

Food

My green smoothie diet did not last long in New York; however, below are some places that make cheat days worth it:

Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer

Sour Power and Cookie ‘N Cream Shakes

This Instagram famous milkshake place is definitely worth a try, and yes the milkshakes are as good as they look. I got the Cookie ‘N Cream Shake and my friend got the Sour Power Shake.

Sanctuary T

We went to this place for brunch and I will definitely go again. There are many healthy options as well as many delicious signature teas.

Blossom

This place is known for their flower-like ice cream presentation. The one I went to is located in Brooklyn.

Places to Visit

Chelsea Market

Full of art, handmade jewelry, and clothes. It tends to get really crowded so I would recommend going as early as possible.

The High Line, Meatpacking Industry

No matter how many times I’ve been to NYC, I had never been to the High Line. This old railroad turned into a park makes for nice walks with a view of the Hudson River.

Lots of cute coffee shops and food places and a nice place to go for a jog at. The view is amazing and being by the Hudson River on a hot summer day feels very refreshing.

Chinatown

Filled with Bubble tea places, ice cream and Chinese markets. It was raining when we went there so we didn’t get to enjoy it a lot.

Museums

Museums in Manhattan are a must and there’s never enough time to go to all of them on the same trip. This time I visited The MET and the Guggenheim.

The Metropolitan Museum

The fashion exhibit is one that constantly changes. This one wasn’t one of the best ones, but Rihanna’s Met Gala dress was on display.

One of my favorite areas of The Met is the Egyptian temple. This time it was decorated for a wedding reception and it looked more beautiful than ever.

Guggenheim

This museum is known for its interesting architectural design.

Inside the Museum

The artwork is displayed all around the walls of the circular museum so it’s really easy to see everything as you go up. The content is more on the modern side, but there’s some traditional works by Degas, Monet, Miró, etc, as well.

So many more things to see and places to go. I will definitely be back sometime soon and hopefully next year live and work there, but for now, till later NYC.
